Favourite Skin Care Products

After a very long hiatus I am finally back and I missed you all! I am still not used to the new blogger and I don't think I like it very much, how are you all coping? I have been really into skin care lately and wanted to show you my current favourites.

From left to right: Dermalogica Clean Start, Sephora Waterproof Eye make up remover, Shu Uemura Depsea Rose Water Mist, Algenist Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Origins Brighter by Nature Brightening Peel.

Dermalogica Clean Start: Helps to prevent any crazy breakouts and is very gentle on the skin. I use this nightly.

Sephora Waterproof Eye make up remover: Very similar to Lancome's Bi-facial but so much cheaper. Gets the job done!

Shu Uemura Depsea Rose Water Mist: Love the scent. I use it if I need to dampen my skin before using skin care products for maximum absorption as well as I use it to make my aspirin masks and the rose is very soothing. Unfortunately its super pricey for what it is!

Algenist Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer: I am normally not a fan of moisturizers, most feel heavy but some gel types are not enough sometimes. This one feels like its in between a cream and gel. It sinks right in, feels very light and gives enough moisture. This is a sample size and I will buy the full size once I'm done.

Origins Brighter by Nature Brightening Peel: I use this maybe 3 times a week at night if my skin is looking dull. I do notice a radiance to my face the next day after using it. It tingles but I like the feeling.

There is also one item not shown that I wanted to add but ran out and thats the Bioderma make up remover. I love this stuff, its so gentle, smells and feels like water, amazing for removing make up on the face and great for sensitive skin! I am going on my 4th bottle.

REVIEW: LORAC 3D Liquid Lustre

Here's another long awaited review of the Lorac liquid lustre drops! This product is a top coat for shadow which amps up the sparkle factor! When I use it, I just dab it on the centre of my lid to give the effect of a multi-dimensional eye look.

WHAT LORAC SAYS: Carol Shaw, Celebrity Makeup Artist to the stars, created 3D Liquid Lustre to AMP up your everyday natural eye makeup look! This paraben-free, long-lasting, shimmering top coat can be applied over eye shadow or alone on eyes and cheeks for luminous, prismatic, 3-Dimensional sparkle and shine. Refuse to be 1-Dimensional and go 3-D with LORAC!

WHAT I SAY: After carefully shaking the bottle, I use the dropper to apply a drop or two of the liquid and pat it around with your finger. Then use the same finger and gentle dab it on the eye area, be sure not to blend it as you may smudge the shadow around.
Do NOT apply the liquid directly to your eye shadow before mixing it on the back of your hand or else you will get a messy eye!

PACKAGING: Glass bottle with a dropper.

PRICE: $16 USD for 0.17 oz.

PROS:
*Ups the amp of any shadow
* long wearing
* Does not irritate my eyes

CONS:
*Can be a bit messy to use

The lustre after mixing it on the back of my hand.

Left: Urban Decay "Haight" shadow, Right: Urban Decay "Haight" shadow with Lorac's liquid lustre on top.

OVERALL: I really love this stuff, especially for nights out. As I said before, I pretty much only use this on the centre of my eye as too much can be overkill but hey if you love sparkle, do what your heart desires :)

Adore Me Review

This post has been long over due, and I must apologize. I was contacted by the new company Adore Me about reviewing their lingerie. Now, I mostly review/post about beauty/skin sometimes accessories on this blog but I just could not pass up lingerie (You can never have too many right?).

Adore Me is a company that uses personalization for each member. Its the same approach as the popular web stores such as JewelMint and StyleMint where you answer a series of questions. Once you finish that process, you get a showroom which is personalized based on your answers. Each month your showroom changes, and you can choose which ever style you would like to purchase (or not for the month) for just $39.99 a set.

The style I chose is the Michelle.

The Good:

What I like about this was you get a set of lingerie for a decent price. They also offer other options like stockings and nighties.
The items washed well, though I hung it up to dry so I'm not sure about how it will hold up int he dryer. It is also very comfortable to wear and fit well.

The Bad:

I actually thought I received the wrong order because the set didn't look like the one I picked. I checked back the order and realized it was, the colour on the website wasn't exactly the same and also the straps didn't match the web photo (mine had lace while the web photo did not).
Another thing is I wish the set had the name of the style attached to the them (each set style is named after girls) to make it easier to remember.

Overall they are a brand worth checking out, just beware that some little details may or may not come exactly as shown!
